B&M Longworth, based in Blackburn, has struck Gold at a prestigious national manufacturing awards ceremony.
The awards, organised by Make UK, the manufacturers’ organisation, the organisation which represents industry more than 20,000 manufacturing businesses were held to recognise the achievements of companies from across the UK.
Following a north west regional win in October, B&M Longworth was presented national winners of the Make UK Energy & Sustainability Award, sponsored by Inspired. The award was given in recognition of its extensive efforts to develop technologies to enable composite materials to be recycled. Demand for composites in sectors such as aerospace and energy is expected to grow substantially and the technologies that have been developed will enable them to go through multiple life cycles.
This will enable greater use of the materials within the UK, as opposed to being imported, and reduce the impact on the environment.
